2011 PRYP Convention Rules

Convention week is planned and intended to be a time of spiritual enrichment and fellowship for the young people of our denomination. We believe that all conventioneers know what is expected of them; however, we all need guidelines to govern us at times. As the host church, Randolph PRC will require all conventioneers to abide by these rules.

-Compliance of all rules as given below and posted on grounds.

-Choice of clothing for all events will be modest and reflect that the wearer is a child of God. (If we feel the clothing is inappropriate, you will be asked to change.)

-No water or food fights in the dorms, or dining hall.

-No smoking, chewing tobacco, or alcohol.

-No illegal drugs, including sleep inhibitors (ex: No-Doze, Monster, etc.).

-No knives, matches, lighters, fireworks, or any type of weapon.

-Electronics must be left home. This includes MP3 players, iPods, computers, cell phones, etc.

-All prescription drugs need to be administered by the nurses. Please check in at their table during registration.

-Quiet time follows devotions, and all conventioneers must stay in their buildings after that. If you leave your building after devotions, you may be asked to leave convention.

-There will be a fee for lost keys.

-Proper Christian conduct includes respect for other’s property. We intend to show respect to the camp and other’s belongings. Any broken items will be paid for by the person(s) responsible for the damage.

-Shirts and shoes must be worn during meal times.

-We expect that conventioneers will show at all times that they are children of God. To that end, we expect all behavior, actions, and dress will be such that God’s name be praised and no shame be brought upon the PRYP or the denomination.

-Conventioneers will be expected to stay on GLCC grounds at all times, and to respect others using the grounds at the same time.

-No boys in girls’ buildings/floors; no girls in boys’ buildings/floors.

-Shirts and shorts must be worn when not in the beach area.

-No pranks or vandalism.

Any young person expelled from the present year's convention will not be allowed to attend future conventions pending an appeal to the Federation Board. The young person who was expelled will be held responsible to send a letter of apology addressed to the Federation Board showing true remorse for their misconduct. Upon receiving this letter the Federation Board will grant the young person reinstatement toward future conventions.
